Johanna Gomez

Johanna Gomez joined the station in July 2007 as a reporter for Local 10 and LATV Miami.

A native of New York City born to Dominican parents, Johanna moved to South Florida and cheered for the Miami Dolphins for three seasons. She was also a dancer for the Miami Heat for two seasons.

Johanna began her career at MUN2 Network, where she co-hosted/reported for the entertainment news show "Fuzion." She also served as host for the nightly interactive news program "The Report," and worked as an on-air talent for other network TV shows, including "Chat."

Johanna hosted "MD Connected" for Cable Tap TV, Miami-Dade County's public access channel, informing the viewers about upcoming cultural events and community initiatives in South Florida.

She was featured in the spring 2007 issue of Moves Magazine and was selected in 2004 as Ocean Drive En Español's "La Gente hot del sur de la Florida." She was also the featured interview in the weekend section of a March 2004 issue of "El Nuevo Herald."

Johanna was a presenter for the 2004 Latin Billboard Award show, as well as host of the 2004 Latin Billboard Bash in Miami Beach.

Johanna is currently a mentor for the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program and is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She also volunteers regularly at the Miami Rescue Mission for the homeless.

She is a graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communication and a minor in Spanish from the School of Journalism.

In her spare time, Johanna practices yoga, is a self-help book reader and spends time with her husband, Steve, their son and her two dogs, Louie and Lola.
