FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

The wife of convicted Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in a Fort Lauderdale federal court.

Kim Rothstein faces up to five years in prison for trying to hide $1 million in jewelry from federal agents during the investigation into his billion-dollar scheme. She pleaded guilty in February to a federal conspiracy charge.

The 39-year-old's attorneys are asking for leniency because of her cooperation in the ongoing investigation.

Her husband is serving a 50-year prison sentence in an undisclosed location.
