Kitten saved by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue

Firefighters found kitten tied in plastic bag

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Firefighters with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue saved a kitten Monday night as they were leaving a scene at Northwest 12th Court and Northwest 79th Street.

Crews had heard the kitten crying, and followed  the sound only to discover it was tied in a plastic bag, and discarded in the bushes, authorities said.

The kitten is 2 or 3 weeks weeks old, and was given the name Christine after the heroine in "Phantom of the Opera" and one of the firefighters who saved her. 

Christine  has been taken to the Humane Society of Broward County and will be eligible for adoption in a couple of weeks.
