James sits down with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts

MIAMI – LeBron James talked with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts about whether he'll stay in Miami after next season.

The two-time NBA champion can opt out of his contract with the Heat following the 2013-14 season.

"I'm happy right now being in Miami -- obviously -- winning two championships in a row, and hopefully everything works out but when that time comes upon us, I'll be able to tackle that but happiness in life and in what you do makes it easier to," he said.

He added that he's thankful for his career each day.

"I don't believe you can take it for granted because there's not that many that make it," said James.

James said he was disappointed in Major League Baseball's investigation into Biogenesis of America, a closed anti-aging clinic in Coral Gables accused of distributing banned performing-enhancing drugs.

"It sends a bad message," said James. "So many kids look up to us as role models and as leaders and as an inspiration to do what's right."

James said his biggest role model growing up was his mom.

"My mother was definitely always number one on my list no matter what I was going through, he said. "She always kept the outside away from me."
