FHP: Motorhome with Texas tag crashes into wall killing 2

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A fatal crash caused traffic delays on Tuesday afternoon after shutting down the Florida Turnpike’s southbound lanes in Miami-Dade County’s Princeton area.

A motorhome that was towing a Jeep, both with Texas license plates, crashed at the Turnpike’s Exit 9 ramp to Southwest 112th Avenue, also known as Allapattah Road.

According to Lt. Alejandro Camacho, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the motorhome lost control, traveled off the roadway, and collided right into a barrier wall.

The man in the motorhome was ejected and died. A woman was inside when the motorhome caught on fire. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel took her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
