MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — One person was transported to a hospital Friday morning after a fire erupted inside a home in Miami Gardens, first responders confirmed.
The fire was reported at 4:16 a.m. in the area of Northwest 14th Avenue and 172nd Street.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, eight MDFR units responded to the scene and found heavy smoke coming from the single-family home.
The victim who was transported possibly suffered smoke inhalation, officials said.
The American Red Cross is now assisting the family.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
