2 mobile homes destroyed in separate fires in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Flames engulfed two mobile homes in separate fires in Fort Lauderdale hours apart on Christmas morning, according to fire officials.

The fires broke out at trailers in the Pan American Estates community, located off Northwest 67th Street and North Andrews Avenue in the far northern reaches of the city.

Firefighters first arrived at around midnight to find one mobile home ablaze, and, hours later found another on fire a few lots down, a spokesperson for Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said.

No one was in either trailer at the time and no firefighters were hurt, according to FLFR.

Investigators are looking into what caused both fires.
