Investigation underway after AT&T worker found dead in Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police are investigating after an AT&T worker was found dead in Miami Beach Wednesday afternoon.

It happened near the 1500 block of West 24th Street, just south of the Miami Beach Golf Club.

Miami Beach police told Local 10 News that the AT&T employee was working on a home in the area when a co-worker later arrived at the job site and found the victim unresponsive.

Miami Beach Fire Rescue personnel also responded to the call and pronounced the male worker dead at the scene.

Sky 10 flew over the scene at 1:15 p.m. where a yellow tarp covered the side of a building where the man’s body was dangling from.

Miami Beach police officers and Miami Beach Fire Rescue crew members were seen talking to workers in the area who appeared to be distraught over the incident.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene where the body was eventually brought down from the side of the building and placed into a body bag by first responders.

Police have not released any information about the worker’s age or identity at this time.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause of death but have confirmed that the man was not electrocuted.

Read AT&T’s statement on the worker’s passing:

“We are deeply saddened that we lost a valued member of the AT&T family, and our thoughts go out to the employee’s family, friends and co-workers. We are cooperating with police in their investigation.”
