Firefighters rescue children from ‘heavy fire’ in Fort Lauderdale

Red Cross: Family of 8 needs help after house fire

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Firefighters reported rescuing children from a “heavy fire” on Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale.

The fire shortly before midnight was at the children’s home near the intersection of Northwest 15 Court and 46 Street, according to fire rescue personnel.

A family of eight was homeless and in need of help, according to the American Red Cross.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel were investigating the cause of the fire on Sunday.
