Person found dead on bench near Homestead City Hall

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Police are investigating after a body was found on a bench Thursday morning near Homestead City Hall.

Sky 10 was above the scene near 100 NE Civic Ct. as a yellow tarp covered the body.

According to Homestead police, the body found is that of a homeless person.

Police said there were no signs of foul play, however the investigation has been handed over to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Division.

The victim’s identity has not been released and a cause of death has not yet been determined.
