Bikers rev up engines for 'Toys in the Sun Run'

30,000 motorcyclists ride to raise money, collect toys underprivileged kids

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - At 9:30 a.m. Sunday, 30,000 bikers left the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach to ride to Markham Park with toys attached to their motorcycles.

The route started out westbound on Pembroke Road to northbound I-95 before going westbound on I-595 and exiting onto Northwest 136th Avenue.

Parts of both I-95 and I-595 are closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

The event raises money and collects toys for underprivileged kids.

The Toys In The Sun Run has been taking place for 25 years in South Florida.
