The stack have been a part of South Florida's skyline since the 1960's, but will come down on July 16.
FPL said they will make way for a new, high-efficiency, clean power plant.
FPL bragged that the new energy center will be 35 percent more fuel-efficient than its predecessor and reduce air emissions by more than 90 percent.
