S. Fla. firefighters help injured Fort Lauderdale firefighter

Fundraiser aims to help firefighter and his family

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A Fort Lauderdale firefighter -- who required rescuing when he was trapped underneath his crashed car -- was in need of support, his colleagues said on Friday.

Sauvens "Vince" Castelly was in critical but stable condition at St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach after he was involved in a car crash on his way to work.

Castelly suffered broken bones and trauma to nerves in his neck, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.

His colleagues were sharing a GoFundMe account to help the veteran firefighter and his family after the Wednesday evening car crash.
