Fundraising begins for Norland state championship basketball team

Norland state champs unable to afford rings

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – For the second year in a row, the Miami Norland Sr. High School Boys Basketball team become state champions. Unfortunately, the school and families of these young men simply can't afford their championship rings.

The rings are valued at $300 each.

"We want our 2012-2013 Miami Norland Boys Basketball team to feel the same pride as players like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, James Jones, and Udonis Haslem feel when they slip their rings on," said Norland alumni Lisa Lee Arneaud and Mariela M. Gonzalez. "Championship rings symbolize the hard work and dedication these men have towards their community, family, & self."
