Fort Lauderdale police said Ross engaged in sexually explicit phone and text conversations with an undercover detective posing as a 16-year-old. Police said Ross then arranged for himself and another undercover detective posing as a potential prostitution client to meet whom he thought was the teen so he could pay them for sex.

Police said Ross was arrested after he arranged a meeting at a Dunkin' Donuts on Davie Boulevard.

Detectives said Ross would primarily contact students while he was a coach at Broward Christian School in Plantation, where he worked until 2001. They said Ross had more than 300 index cards listing different female's names, descriptive characteristics, their hobbies or interests and a contact number.

Police are trying to make contact with the listed individuals.
