Man arrested in Hialeah market shooting

Jorge Mesa, 30, arrested, charged in connection with shooting

HIALEAH, Fla. – Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting at a Hialeah market Tuesday.

The shooting happened at La Gloria Supermarket, 1120 E. 25th St.

Police said the store owner, Jorge L. Del Rosario Mesa, 30, shot Antoine Perry, 43, twice -- once in each leg -- during a dispute outside the market.

It's unclear what the two were fighting about.

Perry was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Hialeah police said other customers were inside the store at the time.

Mesa faces a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm.
