Man killed in Thanksgiving Day shooting

Deputies say 2 men were involved in fight, escalated into shooting

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating a Thanksgiving Day shooting that killed one man.

The shooting happened at 1:20 a.m. at 900 Northeast 8th Avenue in Pompano Beach.

Deputies said upon arrival they saw 30-year-old Rodnel Toussaint laying on the pavement with apparent serious injuries.

The shooting suspect, identified by BSO as 27-year-old Raymond Joseph (pictured, below), was kneeling at Toussaint's side.

At that time, deputies said Joseph indicated his involvement in the shooting and was taken into custody.

Deputies said the two men had been involved in a fight that escalated and resulted in Toussaint being shot.

Toussaint was taken to Broward Health North were deputies said he was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m.

Joseph will be charged with second degree murder, according to BSO.
