FBI spokesman Jim Marshall said the man entered the bank and demanded money from an employee.
There were customers inside at the time, but nobody was injured.
The FBI did not say how much money was taken.
About 1 ½ hours later, the same man is believed to have robbed the Citibank branch on Biscayne Boulevard, Marshall said.
Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call the FBI office in Miami at 305-944-9101.
