Metrorail reopens after bomb squad investigation

MIAMI – Police reopened the Metrorail after finding a suspicious package at Northwest 3rd Street and 1st Avenue.

Authorities said the Miami-Dade Police Department's bomb squad was investigating an abandoned bag found next to a ground floor escalator outside the Stephen P. Clark Government Center on Tuesday evening.

A spokesman for the Metrorail said trains outside of the center were being held while the bomb squad finished its investigation.

The Metrorail reopened about half an hour later.
