The Miami Herald also purchased an adjacent six acre site which will house the company's 119,000 square foot production building.

The Herald's parent company, McClatchy, sold its longtime property in Miami to The Genting Group for $236 million.  Genting hopes to build a $3.8 million destination resort and casino at the site.

The Herald will remain at its current home in downtown Miami until May 2013.
