MIAMI - The Miami Police Department is providing support for a joint military exercise in and around greater Miami Tuesday. The training features a series of exercises and scenarios designed to help military personnel prepare to operate in urban environments.
The exercises will also help prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployment and meet mandatory training certification requirements.
Military officials coordinated the exercises with local authorities and training site owners. Officials said the sites were carefully selected and safety precautions were put in place to ensure the training does not impact people living in Miami.
However, Local 10 has received several calls from viewers concerned with the noise and planes, jets or helicopters flying overhead.
