Mom recovering after crashing car into house

Family forced to move out of damaged home

MIAMI – A mother is recovering in the hospital after she crashed her Crown Victoria into the side of a house.

The woman's 9-year-old daughter was in the car with her at the time. Both were rushed to the hospital Sunday, but the daughter was later released.

It happened at NW 12th Avenue and 40th Street around 11 a.m.

Miami Police say Timara Fox, 39, was behind the wheel of her car with her daughter in the back seat during the accident.

"The little girl was screaming, get her mom out of the car," said witness Wallace Glenn.

"She believes her Mom may have either fallen asleep or had a medical problem," said Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll.

The 9-year-old spoke with Local 10's Ben Kennedy Sunday night, telling him she believes her mother passed out and that she's alright.

Both suffered minor injuries and are expected to be okay.

Glenn was upstairs on a computer during impact and rushed outside to help both the mom and child. Glenn and another family now have to move out of their home. Authorities said they evaluated the stability of the house with structural inspectors. The city fears the walls could collapse once the car is pulled away.
