Monkeys spotted at park, university

Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission believes they're same monkeys living in Dania Beach

MIAMI – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is looking for a gang of monkeys who officials suspect have moved from Dania Beach to Miami.

The monkeys have lived near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for years. Local 10's Ben Kennedy spotted them in November 2012 in Dania Beach.

The monkeys were spotted at Miami's Morningside Park, Barry University, and in Miami Shores on Thursday.

"Some of them are like, 'Oh, I want a monkey. I want to keep it as a pet' and those things that carry rabies and they're dangerous," said Omar Bayona, the manager at Morningside Park.
