Overtown shooting kills 1, leaves 2 injured

MIAMI – One person was killed and two others were injured early Saturday morning in Miami's Overtown neighborhood.

Miami police said Kevin Prince, 55, and two others were shot in the 1200 block of Northwest First Place. 

Danny Houshya, who was working inside a nearby convenience store, called 911 when he saw the victims. 

"I was behind my counter working and I see a girl, a white short girl," Houshya said. "She comes, like that, 'Oh, I got hit! I got hit!" 

Prince, 55, died at the scene. Police identified the two surviving victims as Cassandra Chattier, 28, and Alexander Speer, 35.

Chattier and Speer were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 305-471-TIPS.
