Our Pride Academy students heading to Nationals for Special Olympics

Students part of track and field team

MIAMI – Five student athletes from the Our Pride Academy in Kendall will be going to Nationals for the Special Olympic Games, representing Florida from June 14-21st.

They are part of a track and field team that shows the dedication and hard work that any successful school team does. This includes waking up for 5:30 a.m. practices before classes.

Their school started as a small cottage in Kendall and has grown into a campus that has over 70 students.

The 2014 Special Olympics will be held in New Jersey and, according to their website, has 16 different events including Aquatics, Bocce, Tennis and Gymnastics.
