Escobedo was inside the truck in the area of Northwest 1st Avenue and 10th Street about 2:35 p.m. Tuesday when she was sent flying out of the passenger-side door, police said. The back tire of the truck then ran her over.

"This is a puzzling investigation," said Miami Police Sergeant Freddie Cruz. "We don't know what happened, whether she was ejected on her own or was pushed out of the vehicle."

Surveillance video showed the back tires running over Escobedo.

Miami police are looking for a clean shaven man in his 30s who may be driving an older model, dark-colored Dodge Ram pick-up truck. It is described as having an extended cab with a missing tailgate and several dents and scratches.

"We know someone saw something. Someone heard something. Someone knows something. We need someone to please come forward. Help us out with this investigation and let's capture the person responsible for this crime," said Cruz.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
