Vic's Picks: Dolphins at Saints

Here are the players who caught Victor Oquendo's eye

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla – Each and every week throughout the Dolphins season, Victor Oquendo will honor those players whose contributions led to the wins, and whose mistakes led to the losses, in his weekly Vic's Picks feature.

Marcus Thigpen: I can't remember the last time I saw Marcus Thigpen do anything besides return kicks/punts but with the Dolphins down 14-3 he comes up with a huge 50 yard catch that got the team going. A few plays later, Lamar Miller was in the end zone and the Dolphins were back in the game. Last week, Lamar Miller did something very similar with a 49 yard run.

Brandon Gibson…I guess: Slim pickings here, so let's throw Brandon Gibson in the mix. It looks like Ryan Tannehill, when he wasn't fumbling or throwing interceptions, is starting to develop a good connection with all of his receivers. On Monday, Gibson caught 6 passes for 71 yards.

NOT Daniel Thomas: Thomas isn't gaining too many fans through the first four weeks of the season. He's averaging about 3 yards per carry on the year and he didn't do himself any favors on Monday night with an average of 1.3 ypc. The running game needs improvement to say the least.
