Man steals money from gas station

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police are looking for a man who stole money from a Chevron gas station while searching for loose change in his pocket.

Surveillance video from May 7 showed the man walking around the store, located at at 7100 W. McNab Road in North Lauderdale, browsing through merchandise.

He grabbed a beverage and approached the checkout counter with a dollar bill and loose change, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. The man then asked the clerk to add a cigar to his purchase. 

When the register popped open, the man reached for the money and ran.

He was seen getting into a 1994-95, gold, four-door Toyota Camry. 

The man is in his early to mid 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, has short black hair with a receding hairline and was last seen wearing denim shorts, a neon yellow shirt and sunglasses on his forehead.
