KEY LARGO, Fla. – A Miami man was arrested on drug charges after a maid cleaning his room found a bag of marijuana at a Florida Keys hotel, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said Wednesday.

When deputies arrived at the Hilton in Key Largo, Gilbert Velilla initially said the marijuana was in the room when he checked in, but he later admitted it was his, Herrin said.

The marijuana was vacuum-sealed in 20 separate bags containing 9 grams each, and an electronic scale was also found, Herrin said.

Velilla, 35, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
