Man, 38, dies in police-involved shooting

Police say two officers treated on scene for minor injuries

MIAMI – The Miami-Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau continues to investigate a police-involved shooting that left one man dead and two officers injured.

The incident happened at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at 3201 Northwest 68th Street in Miami.

According to investigators, units responded to a domestic dispute where the caller said a 38-year-old man had an open arrest warrant.

Once the officers arrived, police said they made contact with all parties involved and verified the warrant.

As the officers attempted to place the man in custody, police said a violent struggle for the officer's gun ensued and shots were fired.

Police said the man was struck and pronounced deceased on the scene. According to Miami-Dade police, the officers were treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Miami-Dade police said the investigation continues at this time.
