The victim was taken to Broward Heath North, where he is listed in serious but stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery and a blood transfusion.

Deputies said the victim told them that his son stabbed him.

A search warrant for Wycoff Sr.'s home was issued, and detectives found two bloody knives at the home. Detectives said one of the knives had a broken blade, which was found in the victim's bedroom.

Detectives said Wycoff Jr. denied stabbing his father and said he stays with him once a week and lives with his wife at a home across the street the rest of the time.

Deputies said the suspect's wife said they have been separated since January because of Wycoff Jr.'s excessive drug use.

Wycoff Jr. was taken into custody Tuesday on a charge of attempted premeditated murder.
