Man appears in court after confessing to killing estranged wife

Rolando Garcia, 53, arrested on second-degree murder charge

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man appeared in court Saturday, and is being held without bail, after  he confessed to killing his  estranged wife, Miami-Dade County police said.

Rolando Garcia, 53, drove to a fire station Friday and confessed to killing Barbara Diaz, police said. 

The body of Garcia's estranged wife was found with multiple stab wounds outside a home at 10770 SW 43 Terrace by a relative. 

Police were looking for the alleged killer, when he walked into a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue station in southwest Miami-Dade County and confessed. 

Miami-Dade Detectives picked him up from the station at 6000 SW 87 Ave. and questioned him at the homicide bureau.
