Man arrested after drugs found in Big Pine Key home

Deputies say Joseph Pilotti, 49, had cocaine, marijuana, ammo in home

Detectives say they found drugs and ammunition during a raid of Joseph Pilotti's Big Pine Key home.

KEY WEST, Fla. – A Monroe County man was arrested Thursday after detectives found large amounts of drugs in his Big Pine Key home, authorities said.

Joseph Pilotti, 49, was served three arrest warrants and a search warrant at his Big Pine Key home, 31011 Ave. I, after he sold detectives cocaine several times during an investigation, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.

Detectives searched Pilotti's home and found cocaine, marijuana, pills, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and $4,795 in cash, Herrin said. Cocaine and cash was also found in his pants pocket, she said. 

Pilotti faces charges of possession and sale of cocaine, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

Herrin said the investigation began after several complaints from the community and tips from Crime Stoppers.
