Man arrested for drug trafficking in Hollywood

Jose Morales charged with trafficking heroin

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Authorities say a 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning for trafficking heroin in Hollywood. Jose Morales was charged with four counts of trafficking heroin and four counts of conspiring to traffic heroin.

Police say that during they summer they learned of a drug trafficking organization selling and distributing large amounts of heroin, cocaine and weapons in the entire city of Hollywood. Witnesses told authorities the sales had been going on for several years.

After an investigation, police contacted Morales about the arrest. Morales told police he tried to get a job, but couldn't because of a prior criminal record.

Police said Morales told an officer that "It is what it is. I know what I did. I'm a man that is all I can say."

Morales was previously released out on bond for a previous heroin trafficking case in Broward County.

Eugine Santiago (below, left), Jose Anibal Figueroa (middle) and Xavier Lopez (right) were also arrested in the drug bust.
