A witness told detectives that he exited Interstate 95 about 5:30 a.m. and was heading west on Oakland Park Boulevard when he saw a silver Toyota Tundra driving west in the eastbound lanes.

BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said Ives, 44, was driving east in a black Toyota Camry when she was struck by Landron's vehicle.

Oglesby said the witness honked to get Landron's attention before the crash, but Landron failed to stop.

Oglesby said Landron's car crashed into the Camry head-on. Ives was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives issued a warrant for Landron's arrest May 16 after toxicology results showed that he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent on the morning of the crash.

He was arrested Monday on charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
