Man arrested in numerous Coral Gables burglaries

Police: Francis Casey, 30, admitted to burglarizing 3 homes

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A man accused of burglarizing several homes in Coral Gables was arrested Wednesday.

Francis Casey, 30, is facing multiple charges, including burglary to an unoccupied dwelling, criminal mischief, grand theft and loitering.

According to police, an officer spotted a silver Volkswagen Jetta that was stopped on a sidewalk on Harlano Street. The officer said he saw Casey get out of the car and approach a home.

Police said Casey was startled when he saw the officer and began to walk away from the home, leaving the keys in the car.

The officer approached Casey at Bird Road and Riviera Drive and arrested him on charges of loitering and prowling and driving with a suspended license.

Police said numerous stolen items were found in the Jetta, which was registered to Casey's girlfriend, 26-year-old Melissa Fuentes.

Police said Casey admitted to burglarizing three homes in Coral Gables. Fuentes was arrested on a violation of probation warrant.
