Man calls 911, says he killed woman at Rashelle Hotel, BSO says

Reginald Kindle in custody after woman found dead at hotel near Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Detectives are investigating after a man killed a woman at a hotel near Fort Lauderdale and then called 911 to report the crime, deputies said.

The woman in her 50s was found dead Sunday morning at the Rashelle Hotel on Northwest 27th Avenue.

Reginald Kindle, 52, called 911 at 6:19 a.m. and claimed that he "killed his female companion," Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said.

Kindle had been in a relationship with the woman, whose name hasn't been released. Deputies said both had been staying in a room at the Rashelle Hotel for about a month.

Concepcion said Kindle claimed he killed his girlfriend about 2 a.m. Saturday at the hotel after the two had an argument. Concepcion said he tried to kill himself, but instead reported the incident to the BSO.

Deputies took Kindle into custody without incident.

Detectives have not revealed how the woman died.
