Man dies after tractor-trailer crashes into car stopped in middle of I-75

WESTON, Fla. - A man died after the car he was driving was stopped in the middle of Interstate 75 and struck by a tractor-trailer, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened about 3 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-75 near Indian Trace Road.

According to the FHP, a car was stopped on I-75 without its lights on at the time of the crash. The tractor-trailer jackknifed after swerving in an attempt to avoid the car.

The driver of the car, Carl Rose, 59, of Miramar, was pronounced dead at Broward Health Medical Center. The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn't hurt.
