FORT JEFFERSON, Fla. – A 76-year-old man died while swimming at Fort Jefferson on Tuesday morning.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office Detective Lissette Zuelch said Guy Maddox was at the fort with his wife and friends.

Zuelch said they were all swimming when a woman noticed Maddox was unresponsive. She pulled him to shore and attempted to revive him, but those attempts were unsuccessful.
Maddox's body was brought to Key West, where an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.
Zuelch said no foul play is suspected.
