Man escorted out of county commission meeting after making threats

Jose Fernandez arrested; Bond set at $13K

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested after he threatened those in attendance at a Miami-Dade County budget hearing Tuesday, police said.

Jose Antonio Fernandez was speaking at the meeting when he said, "The county took my land, now my house. If you come into my house I'll blow it up, and I have the right to come back and shoot every single one of you."

Police said Fernandez's threat was directed towards the county commission and Mayor Carlos Gimenez.

Fernandez was asked to leave the meeting. He reportedly began making a scene and yelling as he was escorted out.

Fernandez was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and 13 counts of corruption by threat against a public official. His bond is set at $13,000.
