Man found shot to death in Miami Gardens

Mark Constantine, 30, shot outside Checkers restaurant early Wednesday morning

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Miami Gardens.

The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday near Northwest 181st Street and Northwest Second Avenue.

Police said an employee inside the Checkers pressed a panic button upon hearing gunshots.

Mark Constantine, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to detectives, Constantine was visiting a friend at the fast-food restaurant, when he was involved in an altercation that led to the shooting.

His loved ones are asking anyone who saw the gunman to come forward.

"He was a good guy, you know, respectable and everything. (He) was humble; he did a lot for everybody," the victim's friend, Mike Miller, said.

Constantine's friends said he was a father of three.

Police said they are now searching for a light-skinned black man with braids. He is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds.

Police said the man was traveling in a black truck with two other black men. They were last seen traveling south on Northwest Second Street.
