Man gets into fight with employee after stealing toothbrush heads, deputies say

BSO: Thief punches lost prevention officer in head before running off

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. ā€“ A man is wanted on robbery and battery charges after getting into a fight with a loss prevention officer who caught him stealing electronic toothbrush heads at an Oakland Park Walgreens store, deputies said.

Surveillance video captured the incident just before 5 p.m. Sept. 14. at the Walgreens at 601 E. Commercial Blvd.

The video shows the employee standing at the exit to stop the man from leaving the store after he saw him pocket six packs of three Oral B toothbrush heads.

Deputies said the employee told the man to return the items and he would let him leave the store, but instead the two got into a physical altercation, which spilled outside of the store.

Deputies said the thief punched the employee in the head and ran off.

The robber is described as a black man with a beard and a shaved head. He weighs about 200 pounds and is about 5 feet 5 inches tall.

He was wearing black pants, a black T-shirt and a camouflage vest during the robbery.
