DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -

A 34-year-old-man was taken to a hospital after being nearly struck by lightning in Deerfield Beach.

The incident occurred at 198 Lock Road.

According to Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Jachles, the victim was sitting on a railing when lightning struck nearby.  He was then thrown to the pavement.
