A 28-year-old driver was killed Thursday morning when he crashes his car into a building in Miami.
It happened about 7 a.m. at 5651 NW 17th Street.
According to witnesses, the driver was behaving oddly behind the wheel when he stopped at the light at 54th Street. When it turned green, he drove north on 17th Avenue, then crashed.
No skid marks were visible on the road. The car smashed a big hole right through the tax office, which wasn't open yet.
Firefighters raced to save the man, but said he was dead when they arrived.
Police have not identified the victim, but said he's from the area.
"I'm really sorry for him," said Exile Stvilus, owner of the building. "Not for the building, for him."
It's unclear what caused the man to lose control of his car, but witnesses told police the man appeared to have blacked out.
A witness told police that one of the people who came over to help the man stole his cell phone and ran away.
The medical examiner will determine how the man died.
