Man police stunned with Taser following Hallandale Beach robbery identified

Carlos Ochoa, 39, remains in critical condition

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A man who was stunned by at least one Taser following a robbery in Hallandale Beach has been identified.

Police said Carlos Ochoa, 39, of Miami, was leaving the scene of the robbery at the Atlantic Shores Coin Laundry off U.S. Highway 1 on Friday when he shoved a woman and attempted to get away by jumping over a fence. Police said when they found Ochoa they handcuffed him, but he became violent.

Police said they had no choice but to stun Ochoa with a Taser. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Ochoa is charged with robbery with no firearm or weapon and resisting an officer.
