Man rapes woman in Hollywood alley, leaves identification behind, police say

Larenz Dauquan Daniel, 20, charged with sexual battery

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A 20-year-old man is facing two sexual battery charges after police said he raped a woman in a Hollywood alley.

The incident happened Sunday in the area of Buchanan Street and North 21st Avenue.

According to the arrest report, the victim was walking home from a Circle K when Larenz Dauquan Daniel asked her if she would have sex with him if he paid her $80.

Police said the victim told Daniel that she was not a prostitute. He allegedly grabbed her arm and forced her down an alley near a dumpster. She said Daniel struck her in the face, and forced her to have sex and perform oral sex on him.

She said Daniel stopped once he heard voices near the alley. Police said Daniel left behind his wallet, shorts, a knife and one shoe.

The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital by a friend. Responding detectives observed swelling and bruising on the victim's face, and said her knees had small bloody cuts and were dirty.

Detectives said Daniel called 911 shortly after the alleged rape and told dispatchers someone had just shot him in the 1,800 block of Buchanan Street. The woman later identified Daniel as the man who raped her.

Daniel is being held at the Broward County main jail without bond.
