Man robs jewelry store at Oakland Park Flea Market

Deputies: 2 gold chains stolen, 1 with diamond pendant

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office has released surveillance video of a robbery at the Oakland Park Flea Market that occurred Aug. 31.

The video shows a female employee behind the counter at Janalls Jewelry when she was approached by a man who asked to see several items.

As the woman showed the man a gold chain, he grabbed it from her while also snatching another chain with a diamond pendant from the counter.

Deputies said surveillance video also showed the thief at another jewelry store minutes before the robbery. They said he looked at one item, before seeming to lose interest and leaving.

The man left the flea market with another person in a dark two-door coupe with a non-functioning passenger side brake light, deputies said.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
