Man says police impersonators abducted him

Man tells investigators he escaped on Palmetto Expressway

HIALEAH, Fla. – A man found handcuffed and barefoot as he walked along the Palmetto Expressway told investigators that police impersonators abducted him but he was able to escape.

According to Miami-Dade police, the man said three others who identified themselves as police officers approached him as he returned home to 15073 SW 43rd Lane about 9:46 a.m. Friday.

The men handcuffed him and ordered him into a black sport utility vehicle. While traveling northbound on the Palmetto Expressway, they pulled over and let him out at Northwest 74th Street after he tried escaping.

It's unclear why the men abducted him. Police found him later in the morning.
