Man shoots, kills neighbor during argument, police say

Keith Mitchell, 49, charged with one count of murder

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police have arrested a 49-year-old man from Fort Lauderdale, accused of fatally shooting his neighbor during an argument Wednesday night.

According to the arrest report, Keith Mitchell and his neighbor, 50-year-old Anthony Hoder, were involved in an argument that led to the shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Hoder injured and lying inside the entrance to his apartment at 220 SW 38th Ave.

Hoden was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he later died.

Police said Mitchell barricaded himself inside his apartment when officers arrived. The Fort Lauderdale SWAT team was called out, and Mitchell eventually came out of his apartment.

Mitchell is charged with one count of murder.
