Employee says incident happened outside Grumpy's Bar

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – A man was fatally shot Tuesday after he stabbed another man outside a bar in Homestead, authorities said.

The incident was reported at Grumpy's Bar, 29301 SW 152nd Ave, but an employee at the bar told Local 10 News that the altercation actually happened in the parking lot.

According to the employee, the men were never inside the bar at any time.

According to police, two men got into a fight and one of the men stabbed the other several times.

Police said the victim attempted to run away, but the man who had stabbed him followed him.

In fear for his life, the victim pulled out a handgun and shot the other man, police said. The stabbing suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man who was stabbed was taken to an area hospital. His condition has not been released.

Authorities have not identified the two men involved in the fight and have not said whether the surviving man will face charges.
